Middle School/Upper School Spanish Teacher
The Bryn Mawr School seeks a full time, growth-minded Middle School Spanish teacher for the fall of 2015. Responsibilities include teaching four sections (likely three sections of MS Spanish and one section of US Spanish), advising a small group of students, and serving as a member of a grade-level faculty team. A strong educational background, middle school teaching experience, and a genuine desire to teach and learn from young people are required.
Candidates should have interest in teaching highly motivated girls at a school that values not only intellectual pursuits but also building strong relationships and community. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who is comfortable using a variety of pedagogical strategies and enjoys working creatively and collaboratively to develop and plan curricula. A desire to take an active role in teaching in a one-to one laptop classroom is essential. Candidates who can also teach French are of particular interest. Part Time Guest Artist/Upper School Ceramics Instructor
The Bryn Mawr School seeks a part time Guest Artist/Upper School Ceramics Instructor for the 2015-2016 school year.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of current ceramic techniques including throwing and handbuilding skills and various glazing techniques.
- Ability to teach methods and practices to high school students, class size of approx. 13-15+ students, for afternoon sessions.
- Knowledge of proper kiln operations including kiln loading, unloading and firing schedules.
- Responsible for proper care and maintenance of kilns, wheels and other equipment.
