Middle School/Upper School Spanish Teacher

The Bryn Mawr School seeks a full time, growth-minded Middle School Spanish teacher for the fall of 2015.  Responsibilities include teaching four sections (likely three sections of MS Spanish and one section of US Spanish), advising a small group of students, and serving as a member of a grade-level faculty team.  A strong educational background, middle school teaching experience, and a genuine desire to teach and learn from young people are required.  

Candidates should have interest in teaching highly motivated girls at a school that values not only intellectual pursuits but also building strong relationships and community.  The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who is comfortable using a variety of pedagogical strategies and enjoys working creatively and collaboratively to develop and plan curricula.   A desire to take an active role in teaching in a one-to one laptop classroom is essential.  Candidates who can also teach French are of particular interest.  Candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.  Coaching opportunities are available.

Part Time Guest Artist/Upper School Ceramics Instructor

The Bryn Mawr School seeks a part time Guest Artist/Upper School Ceramics Instructor for the 2015-2016 school year.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of current ceramic techniques including throwing and handbuilding skills and various glazing techniques.
  • Ability to teach methods and practices to high school students, class size of approx. 13-15+ students, for afternoon sessions.
  • Knowledge of proper kiln operations including kiln loading, unloading and firing schedules.
  • Responsible for proper care and maintenance of kilns, wheels and other equipment.
